Ewbank – where I served my apprenticeship

I joined Ewbank as a Toolroom Apprentice in August 1962 until July 1969. My friend Geoff, who went through my college years of 62 to 69 with me on the same courses, found the above video of Ewbank and I am grateful to him for telling me about it.

After I had passed my ONC in Engineering at Accrington College of Further Education in 1967, because I had done well and passed my exams, I was upgraded to a Student Apprentice for the remainder of my Apprenticeship taking and passing an HND in Production Engineering at the same college. I spent the last year and a half of my time at Ewbank as an Industrial Engineer before I got ‘itchy feet’ and moved on. I remember my time there with a lot of affection.
